Crown Court
The Crown Court deals with the most serious criminal cases such as murder, serious assaults and sexual offences (including rape), supply and production of drugs (class A and class B), robbery, burglary, firearm offences, blackmail, kidnap, EncroChat, conspiracy cases, fraud including white collar and tax evasion, proceeds of crime (POCA), money laundering, human trafficking and modern day slavery offences.
Your case will be presided over by a professional Judge. If you have a trial, the jury will decide whether you are guilty or not. In certain circumstances the Crown Court has the power to send you to prison for life. These types of cases are life changing.
The Crown Court also deals with appeals from the Magistrates Court.
